How often does a Chevy Equinox need an oil change?
Plan on an oil change every 5,000 to 7,500 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. Each visit at Bridgewater Chevrolet includes a GM oil filter, a four-wheel tire rotation, and a complimentary 27-point Multi-Point Inspection.
What oil does my Chevrolet Equinox use?
It depends on the engine. Many Equinox engines use 5 quarts of dexos synthetic 0W-20, while others use 6 quarts of dexos synthetic 5W-30. Your service advisor will confirm the correct oil for your Equinox.
Does an all-wheel-drive Equinox need extra maintenance?
Yes. At 45,000 and 90,000 miles, AWD models also receive transfer case / power transfer unit (PTU) service and rear differential service.
When should the spark plugs be replaced on an Equinox?
Spark plug replacement is scheduled at 60,000 miles. Turbocharged 1.5L and 2.0L engines tend to wear plugs faster. If it was not done at 60,000 miles, it is included at 100,000 miles.
